Getting your dog trained off-leash is the ultimate expectation of every dog owner.

Today, discover the third and final rule to help you achieve this goal.

In this episode, Bennie explains the third of his Three Rules of Consistency.

Rule #1
- Once you give a command, no matter what happens, you always have to end it in a positive way
- You must understand at times that there is NO WAY your dog will complete the command, so you MUST release your dog from the command by saying All Done .

Rule #2
- Once you give a command you cannot touch your dog or the leash, and you have to do everything in your power to do that command

Rule #3
- Once you give a command to your dog, if that command is unsuccessful, before you ever practice that command again, you have to pick up the leash and do that command 10 times on the leash before you ever try that command off-leash again.

The rules are ONLY about you and not about your dog.
You need to be aware when you are training so you can differentiate successful and unsuccessful training.
If you want your dog to be willing to do what you asked, you have to stand there and let your dog make the decision.
If you have to use motivation or correction, your command is unsuccessful.
Obviously, when your dog does the command correctly, then you give praise.
Remember to be patient and let the dog do the command.
